Celebration of Women’s Event Featuring Elaine Chao

Oldham County Celebration of WomenWe have some exciting news from the Oldham County Chamber of Commerce about this year’s Celebration of Women event. The Friday Brunch speaker is former U.S. Labor Secretary, Elaine Chao.

Not only was Chao the first ever Asian Pacific American to be appointed to a president’s cabinet, she was also the first Kentuckian to be appointed in over 55 years and was the longest serving secretary of labor since World War II. “Secretary Chao is an inspiration to women across the country for her education, dedication to quality, leadership in the non-profit sector, and overall passion for service,” states Deana Karem, executive director of the chamber.

Currently in its fourth year, the Celebration of Women event has become an annual tradition designed to honor the contributions of our female business leaders, employers, and community.

The two-day celebration takes place Thursday, September 27 with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. and Friday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m. for brunch. Both events will be held at the Gingerwoods Event Hall, 7611 North Rose Island Road, Prospect, KY 40059. Registration is only $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members and can be purchased on the Oldham County Chamber website.

We can’t wait to attend the Celebration of Women and hear from Elaine Chao! Look for our upcoming blogs about the event!
